My Biography

Welcome to My ePortfolio - information submitted on this site is continuous as I seek to enhance my career by teaching online classes.   

I am an experienced educator with 18 years of teaching experience.  In 1994, I established Another Chance Ministries.  In 2003 the ministry was renamed and established as a 501 (c) 3 organization - Another Alternative Ministries Global.  

University of Maryland University College - Learning Environment Online (LEO) Consultant

  • Assist faculty in key features of LEO and how to use them in the classroom (UMUC) environment, providing faculty with real-time help with tool.
  • Use key communication tools (i.e., Google Chat and Hangouts) to share screens and guide faculty through step-by-step instructions in the LMS.
  • Up-to-date record keeping on the use of Key Features in LEO Engage space reflecting questions and needs for support they are asked to address.
  • Responding to faculty questions posted in Questions about Teaching in LEO Engage space.
  • Assist Faculty Development staff to identify and analyze trends in support needs and make recommendations for future training and other interventions to address the needs.

University of Maryland University College -Graduate Faculty Writing Coach & Teaching Assistant 

  • DETC 620 Distance Education Technology, and DETT 611 Library and Intellectual Property Issues in Distance Education & E-learning
  • Assisting students with LMS (WebTycho) issues, and aid in the grading/posting feedback loop;
  • Complete knowledge of adult learning theories;
  • Coaching students on appropriate writing styles, analyzing writing and providing feedback;
    posting weekly writing tips, answering student questions, referring students to UMUC’s resources for further assistance with writing, citations, and research. Updating students on academic writing resource changes.

 Assisted faculty with migration of undergraduate and graduate courses from the LMS (WebTcho) to the newly implemented LMS (D2L -
 Desire2Learn);
  •  Formatting content according to D2L format; copying, pasting, editing, and making necessary changes.
  •  Creating specific folders with appropriate labeling for course content (i.e., syllabus, migrator notes, TA/WC notes, additional   reading, etc.);
  • Uploading folders in Google docs for sharing with instructor/s and program director/s;
  • Continuously interacting with course instructors to determine accuracy of format.

  • Engaging student-to-student and student-to-faculty interaction via multimedia technology (chat, and video sessions). 
  •  Assessing students' coursework; setting and marking examinations; 
  •   Establishing collaborative links outside the institution.
  • Reviewing/editing/updating course curriculum regularly to ensure it is up to date and accurate. 
  • Perform any related tasks to improve the nature, experience, and delivery of online courses where appropriate.
  • Maintaining class netlinks to ensure availability, accuracy and relevance.
  • Responding to student emails, questions, and comments within 24 hours. 
  • Grading and providing quality feedback to students' assignment submissions within 24 hours. 
  • Providing detailed progress reports and assessments of student activities within 24 hours.
  • Develop and present curriculum for quarterly conferences.
  • Hire and train instructors for that aspect of the ministry.
